Holy Fool: Artworks

Holy Fool: Artworks is a magnificent collection that gathers over 240 of Leunig's artworks together for the first time in a single volume, showcasing the full breadth of his creative genius.

While Leunig is best known for his poignant and whimsical newspaper cartoons, this book reveals so much more. It spans his work in paintings, sculpture, prints and drawings, offering a rare opportunity to appreciate the depth and versatility of his artistic expression. At the heart of this collection lies the recurring figure of the "holy fool" a character who does not conform to social norms, whether by choice or circumstance, yet is regarded as having a divine blessing or inspiration. This archetype is embodied in the strange, big-nosed figures, Mr Curly and Vasco Pyjama that populate Leunig's imaginative universe.
