The Tall Man and the Twelve Babies

The Tall Man and the Twelve Babies is a funny and engaging children's picture story book written by Tom Niland Champion and Kilmeny Niland, with colourful illustrations by Deborah Niland.

In a big, big city, a tall, tall man lives in a tiny, tiny apartment with twelve babies. All the boys are called Alistair and all the girls are called Charlene. When the apartment door suddenly slams shut and separates the babies into two groups, the Tall Man has to figure out how to solve the problem.

With its playful story, repeated language, colourful artwork and humorous situation, this book is ideal for preschool children, storytime and early readers. It also provides opportunities for children to think about family, home, teamwork and problem-solving. The book was an Honour Book in the CBCA Book of the Year: Early Childhood, 2011.
